Kerbside Recycling Improvement Officer

Role Responsibility

Join us and play a vital role in shaping a greener Kent. As a Kerbside Recycling Improvement Officer, you’ll be working directly with our district and borough colleagues in communities across Kent to inspire positive change, helping residents recycle more, waste less, and protect our environment. This is a unique opportunity to see the impact of your work first-hand and be part of innovative projects that make a lasting difference.

You will support the delivery of targeted improvement initiatives, working closely with local partners to identify opportunities to increase recycling performance and reduce contamination. This will involve analysing data, engaging with residents and stakeholders, and contributing to the development of practical, locally focused solutions that drive sustained behavioural change.

The role also involves supporting communication and engagement activities, helping to raise awareness and promote best practice in waste reduction and recycling. You will work collaboratively across services, sharing insights and learning to inform future approaches and ensure consistent, effective delivery across Kent.

At Kent County Council, we’re committed to supporting our people with flexible working arrangements and a healthy work-life balance, so you can thrive both in and outside of work while contributing to a role that truly matters.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
