Education Ranger

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent Country Parks as an Education Ranger. 

 

You will be responsible for delivering fun and engaging educational visits and events across East Kent sites and supporting the wider Education Ranger team at parks including Shorne Woods, Trosley and Lullingstone.

 

Key responsibilities include:


- Delivering educational programmes primarily at Brockhill but supporting delivery at other Country Parks also when needed.

- Developing new educational offers/events aligned with the national curriculum and current educational trends.

- Collaborating with the east Kent Visitor Experience Officer and ranger team to plan and deliver an engaging annual events programme that attracts new audiences and retains those which we currently have.

- Supporting the Education Ranger team in designing and delivering team-building days for corporate and community groups.

- Delivering Forest School and outdoor learning sessions, including Level 1 and Level 3 Forest School training courses.


Essential Requirement:

- A Level 3 Forest School qualification is required.

- Substantial Proven experience, post qualification, leading forest school with at least one long term (i.e. through the seasons) programme with a variety of client groups

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
