Tutor Assessor

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a full-time or part-time flexible, motivated and resourceful Apprenticeship Tutor/ Assessor (TAQA L3, A1 ,D32/33) to deliver an innovative and exciting apprenticeship programme for the Level 3 Business Administrator Standard across the County. You will have a nominated base and be paid travel expenses from this base according to KCC procedure.

We require a Tutor/Assessor with knowledge and experience of apprenticeship standards, to support learners to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required within the assessment specification to enable completion of their apprenticeship in a timely manner to ensure consistency and fairness throughout all teaching, learning and assessment delivery techniques.

The applicant will need to hold

  • Level 2 or above accreditation in English, maths and ICT
  • TAQA L3, (A1) (D32/33).
  • Level 3 teaching qualification (AET), or a willingness to achieve this

The tutor will be required to:

  • Conduct initial assessment activities and complete relevant documentation, to ensure compliance with funding rules and our internal processes and procedures.
  • Identify and assess learners' needs and put in place robust learning plans, with realistic and challenging goals.
  • Be able to support learners through their personal journey realising their potential and provide information, advice and guidance, particularly focused on career progression.
  • Liaise with apprentices' line managers and employers to ensure appropriate opportunities for training and assessment are available to the apprentices both on and off the job and provide information on learner progress and achievement as required.
  • Report to the Curriculum Leader and working closely with the Business Skills Team and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to participate in quality assurance activities supporting a high-quality and standardised provision. Working together to plan and deliver inspiring training and workshop sessions to groups and individual learners.
  • Maintain current and relevant CPD around the subject specialism and teaching, learning and assessment.
  • To support the Functional Skills Tutor for English and maths to ensure timely achievement and the embedding of Functional Skills within your contextual delivery.
  • Actively promote and model good practice in equality and diversity, safeguarding and health and safety, embedding these and British Values into the apprenticeship programme.

Learner/employer contact will be undertaken through a blended approach using Microsoft Teams, Zoom and in-person meeting.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend interview on the 25th January 2022, for which they will be asked to deliver a pre-set micro-teach as part of the interview process.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
