VSK Education Support Officer (Key stage 1 to 4)
This is a Term Time only (39 weeks per year) Fixed Term contract for 12 months

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Education Support Officer to join our friendly dynamic and supportive team at the Virtual School Kent, a service within KCC. We are seeking a person with educational experience to work in our South Kent team supporting schools, stakeholders and young people in care in the area.
Your main duty will include managing a caseload of children in care in curriculum Years 1 - 11 , ensuring they all have high quality, up to date and regularly reviewed Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
This role could include working in support of children in care with SEN.
To achieve this you will be collaborating with school staff, social workers, partners across multi-agency teams and carers to ensure best outcomes for children and young people in care.
You will need to be self-motivated and highly organised with the ability to prioritise work and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the team and the young people we support. An excellent knowledge of the education system and a commitment to inclusion are essential to the role.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
