Teaching Assistant

Role Responsibility

We are looking for motivated, dedicated and caring candidates for part-time Teaching Assistant positions to support groups and individual learners who are engaging in face-to-face Skills for Life courses (ESOL, Functional Skills Maths and English, Everyday Maths and English or IT).

We have a number of TA positions available across our adult education centres in Kent. We are looking for TAs to work at the following centres: Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, Margate and Canterbury, Sittingbourne, Sevenoaks and Gravesend.

The right candidates will need a flexible approach and a commitment to professional development. You will assist tutors with pre-course planning and administrative tasks needed to smoothly deliver programmes of learning.

You will actively promote students' wellbeing and support learners who may have learning difficulties or physical disabilities. You will have or will be working towards a generic Learner Support Qualification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
