Transport Planner

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council’s Transport Innovations team as a Transport Planner to deliver a variety of exciting sustainable transport projects.

The pandemic has highlighted the huge benefits of active forms of travel for people’s personal health and wellbeing, to local communities and to the environment. Our team supports economic development and healthy lifestyles by encouraging use of active and sustainable modes of travel.

We are therefore looking for a motivated, organised and experienced individual to help deliver a variety of behaviour change measures to encourage walking and cycling which will  assist in meeting our strategic aim for Kent communities to feel the benefits of economic growth by being in work, healthy and enjoying a good quality of life. 

You will need to demonstrate excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  You will be required to be a team player as well as be able to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders such as customers and Members to ensure they are kept fully informed of key issues and progress.  As part of the role you will need to ensure information and databases are fully up to date as well as monitor key indicators and report progress against targets, therefore good data management skills will be required.
