TPS Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

The Total Placement Service (TPS) Business Team is responsible for administering contracts and payments for a wide range of accommodation placements for children in care and care leavers.

The team is looking to recruit a TPS Business Support Officer to deliver a range of business, administration, financial and system services for the purchase of resources for children and families. The role will be on a fixed term basis until 30th September 2024.

The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of business and financial systems, providing specialist advice and resolving queries. This post will provide an administrative and data support service for applications that require joint agency funding for placements and services on behalf of Social Care, Education and Health.

It is essential that the successful applicant has the following experience and key skills:

- Highly motivated and be able to work autonomously

- Excellent organisation, administration and communication skills

- Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise and plan effectively

- Excellent business and financial administration including use of databases

- Ability to monitor and process accurate financial records

- Excellent Microsoft Office skills

- Ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets

- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business and be able to work under pressure

- Ability to resolve complex queries

- Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.

Closing date for applications is 6th May 2024.

Interviews will be face-to-face and will take place on 20th May 2024. Shortlisted candidates will also be required to complete a skills assessment at a mutually agreed time around this date.

Please note that we do not anticipate shortlisting candidates who have recently been unsuccessful in applying for this post.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
