Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Manager

Role Responsibility

If you are a dynamic and highly motivated individual looking for a new challenge, Kent County Council is the place for you. As the biggest County Council, we are looking for someone with the drive and enthusiasm to lead our Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Service and take a leading role in the delivery of Kent County Council policy, infrastructure and services through emerging Local Plans and strategic growth opportunities across the county.

Working within the Growth and Communities Division, the postholder will lead a team that establishes the position of the County Council on all infrastructure and planning matters relevant to achieving high quality economic and housing growth in Kent. You will lead the successful digitisation of the Kent and Medway Growth and Infrastructure Framework; a pioneering and forward-thinking document that provides a long-term strategic picture of growth and infrastructure needs across the county. You will have a pivotal role in promoting KCC’s position around growth and infrastructure to Government and a range of key partners, possessing the credibility to effectively influence policy and legislation whilst proactively addressing barriers to enable growth.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to work within a complex and varied environment, with experience in leading a team and delivering projects. You will be able to maximise your impact by excelling in collaborative working across the County Council and with a range of stakeholders. Your innovative and flexible approach to the role will enable you to successfully meet outcomes which will make a real impact in enabling high quality growth in Kent, making a sustained difference to Kent residents, communities and businesses.
