Senior Business Support Officer - National Transfer Scheme (UASC Service)

Role Responsibility

We are currently looking for a full time, permanent, National Transfer Scheme (NTS) Senior Administration Officer to join our busy and fast-paced team.

Ensuring unaccompanied asylum-seeking children transfer from the care of Kent County Council to the care of other local authorities under the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) in a safe and timely way is a critical function of the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children’s Service (UAS). You will assist the Service’s NTS Manager to ensure the smooth running of the NTS in Kent, taking a proactive role in its day-to-day functioning.

At the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children’s Service for KCC Integrated Children’s Services, we receive and respond to all requests for support at an intensive level or above, ensuring that these are passed on to the most appropriate service for ongoing support and intervention.

We are looking for someone who possesses excellent IT and problem-solving skills and is confident in dealing with professionals and members of the public on the telephone.  You will be required to supervise staff and deal with highly sensitive and confidential information.

This is a challenging, varied and exciting role that requires multi-tasking and a good eye for detail whilst working under pressure in a fast-paced office environment.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
