Receptionist
Role Responsibility
The Operational Office estate team provides exceptional customer service to our professional clients, KCC staff and members of the public that attend our estate. We are committed in providing a high standard of office facilities and environment to our staff, helping them have the right tools and space to be able to carry out their service for the Council.
We are currently seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a pleasant demeanour, and the ability to multitask effectively.
The working hours will be:
- 6 days on, 6 days off over 2 weeks.
- Week 1 – Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department
- Manage the reception area, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
- Receive and sort daily mail and deliveries
- Perform various administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry
- Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings
- Handle inquiries and provide information to clients and visitors

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
