Practice Review Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-agency Partnership (KSCMP) Business Support Team for a Practice Review Officer. KSCMP is a partnership between KCC, Kent Police and Kent and Medway NHS, as well as other partner agencies, providing strategic oversight of the children’s safeguarding arrangements in the county. The Team supports the Partnership to work together collaboratively to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children who live in Kent.

We are looking for a dynamic and confident individual who is self-motivated and has experience of working in a fast-paced environment. You will have a good working knowledge of safeguarding practice and will be able to analyse information and present it in a way that is accessible to different audiences.

The Practice Review Officer will be required to support the child safeguarding practice review process including through the facilitation of Rapid Reviews; assisting with Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews from commissioning to completion; and project managing the delivery of the relevant aligned action plans. The postholder will monitor and track the impact of the actions undertaken by partner agencies to ensure we are continuously strengthening and improving Kent’s safeguarding system. There will be opportunities to undertake project work and good report writing skills are essential.

You will be able to work collaboratively as part of the wider Partnership Team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be working in partnership with professionals across a range of agencies. Whilst KSCMP does not provide frontline services to children and families, you may also engage with children and families as part of the LCSPR process, so should be comfortable communicating difficult and complex information. You will also have knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, processes, and legislation as they relate to child safeguarding practice reviews.

More broadly, you will have a relevant experience base, having worked in  childcare, Health, social care, the police, Youth Justice, Education, Youth Work, or another relevant field.
