Community Social Care Officer

Role Responsibility

We are recruiting a Social Care Officer to our Safeguarding Adults hub .

We operate in a hybrid model of office-based working and working from home to meet the needs of the service.

About Us

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer to join the Adult Social Care Connect Team covering the Ashford and Canterbury areas.

The Team provides initial contact following a referral from a range of sources and work with adults with a range of care and support needs. Our team focuses on supporting people when they first contact Adult Social Care Services to ensure proportionate assessments are undertaken where indicated and arranging urgent support to manage eligible social care needs as required. Additionally our team manages all Adult Safeguarding Concerns and S42 Enquiries for our locality and this role will be focused in this area.

Our social care interventions are structured around the three pillars of excellent practice, exceptional innovation, and meaningful measures. Therefore, our work is orientated around building relationships with the individual, their families and carers. We engage with communities early on to help people feel empowered to find trusted help and support locally from a range of sources.

The successful candidate would support with undertaking initial safeguarding enquiries and support progression to a S42 as required. They would work closely with the designated safeguarding officer, teams, providers and strategic commissioning to ensure ongoing safety and well-being.

The office base for this post is Brook House, Whitstable with a hybrid working model in place.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
