Front Door Officer

Role Responsibility

Here at the Front Door for KCC Children’s Social Work Services, we respond to all requests for support at an intensive level or above ensuring that these are passed on to the right service for ongoing support and intervention.

We are currently recruiting a Permanent Full Time Front Door Officer.

The Role of the Front Door Officer is key within our service. Working in teams led by Team Managers and supported by Senior Practitioners and experienced Social Workers, this role entails the gathering, recording and analysis of information from a range of sources to contribute to decision making so that families receive support at the most appropriate level.

Information and enquiries are received from the public, district teams and partner agencies, therefore the role requires the post holder to be professional and efficient in their responses, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and respond to challenging situations should they arise.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and have experience of working in a social care setting, e.g., within children’s services.

This post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
