Client Transport Coordinator

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Here at Kent County Council, we’ve got big ambitions for our 1.6 million residents. It means that we do some challenging, varied and rewarding work, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our services. That’s where you come in. Joining the largest county in the UK, you’ll help every child and adult on their journey – and continue your own.

As a Client Transport Coordinator, you’ll have an incredibly varied role. You’ll make sure that children and adults with special educational needs have the right transport in place. Our clients attend over 400 different establishments within Kent and beyond and you’ll be responsible for arranging the transport services that take them there, from taxis and minibuses to coaches and buses.

While you’ll work collaboratively with a range of audiences, you’ll also create positive working relationships with our suppliers and clients. Your insights mean that you’ll identify any concerns and spot opportunities for improvement. As part of your daily routine you will:

- implement transport arrangements by identifying space on existing services

- where necessary purchase new services using our unique portal

- manage contractual agreements

- carry out admin tasks using bespoke ICT systems, or engage with internal and external colleagues to undertake focused activities

To succeed, you’ll be organised, passionate about supporting the people of Kent, and have a keen eye for transport. And as a real people person with customer service experience, you’ll be confident talking to different people in potentially challenging situations. Plus, you’ll be self-motivated, work well in a busy environment and enjoy the freedom of managing your own workload.

In return, you’ll enjoy an excellent work-life balance, have access to great rewards via our exclusive schemes and have the opportunity to be part of a range of clubs. You’ll work 37 hours per week, ranging between 08:00-16:00 and 09:00-17:00 on a rota alongside team members.
