Business Support Lead

Role Responsibility

The Business Support Team provides a comprehensive level of support to The Safeguarding, Professional Standards and Quality Assurance Unit. This includes supporting the following services / teams:  Child Protection Chairs, Independent Reviewing Officers, Local Authority Designated Officers (LADO), the Principal Social Worker, Practice Development Service and Education Safeguarding.

You will be responsible for the direct line supervision of experienced Business Support Officers, who support our service managers, team managers and practitioners.  We are looking for an outstanding individual who, together with the Senior Business Support Lead, is committed to championing change by driving best practice, solution-focussed approaches and embracing new technology and new ways of working.

You will need excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to proactively manage your own workload, whilst supporting the management of workload across the wider team. You will have previous experience of line management and a strong administrative background. You should have good attention to detail and an understanding of data protection guidelines. You should be confident in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and be willing to undertake training on our bespoke databases. 

You will need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with professionals and organisations, acting as a contact point for the service, coordinating a range of tasks and monitoring staff performance. The work is interesting, varied and demanding, and we need someone with a calm and organised approach who can make a positive contribution to the success of the team. Some travel in this role is required.

Flexibility around the contracted base can be considered depending on the location of  the applicant. 
 
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
