(9 month Maternity Cover Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity)

We have a full-time maternity cover opportunity for an experienced Business Support Assistant. This will be a Fixed Term Contract Opportunity for External Candidates or a Secondment Opportunity for those internal to Kent County Council, with approval from their current line manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join BMCR, which sits in the Human Resources & Organisation Development division in the Deputy Chief Executive’s Department.   

We are a dynamic team, that seeks continuous improvement in the services we offer by using automation and innovation. We cover a varied range of business support activities including, the management of the organisation’s salary sacrifice schemes and the co-ordination of Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests for the Division. The services we provide support a range of teams, across our Human Resources & Organisational Development function.

About the role:

The role requires someone with excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines.  You will have good administrative and IT skills, and the ability to prioritise work requests. You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with the public, professionals, and organisations, acting as a point of contact for the Team. The work is interesting, varied, and we need someone with an organised and innovative approach who can make a positive contribution to the success of the team.

Applicants will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have an interest in learning about automation and using power apps such as Power Automate.   We are looking for someone who is innovative and happy to share ideas about how we can work better to deliver our services.
