Assistant Disposal, Acquisition and Investment Surveyor

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Kent County Council has a large and diverse property portfolio and is at a pivotal point in its Property Asset Management cycle. Responding to service delivery changes, we are modernising our property service and adapting it within the current financial context of the Council.

The Property Infrastructure Directorate is already very busy delivering change to the Council’s estate and in particular, the implementation of “Framing Kent’s Future” where we envisage the shape of its estate will change significantly. We are therefore looking for Assistant Surveyors to join our Disposal, Acquisition, and Investment Teams who can proactively support with maximising value and minimise costs and liabilities to KCC.

You are educated to a Level 3 qualification or could have a first level professional qualification, ideally in property and although not necessary, some experience within the public, community or corporate sectors may be an advantage to establish yourself in the team.

You will be assigned to a Principal Surveyor and will be responsible for supporting a team of surveyors with a range of activities across disposals, acquisition and investment activity. It will be necessary to ensure that vacant, acquisition and investment portfolios of land are fully managed. You will provide support for straightforward disposal, acquisition, and investment delivery plans. The ability to research and analyse data for these activities to facilitate informed advice is essential.

This is primarily a support role, but for the right individual who has the drive to develop their career in a dynamic and solutions focused team, you will derive satisfaction from the delivery of an improved and efficient estate.

In return, you can expect a rewarding career with KCC as we offer a comprehensive and competitive range of benefits to suit all circumstances, including:

  • Reward and recognition with our Pay Policy
  • Access to our excellent Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Generous holiday and Leave entitlement
  • Flexible hours and locations

If you are a curious, compassionate, collaborative individual we are interested in working with you in an inclusive and supportive way, develop you as an individual and together achieve great outcomes for KCC.

Please note for shortlisting purposes we require you to complete the 'Reason for applying' question, ensuring you that you provide specific examples of your qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience to demonstrate your suitability and in addition highlight areas of strength in relation to the Person Specification.
