Youth Justice Referral Order & Volunteer Lead
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Kent County Council’s Youth Justice service, leading on the recruitment, training, and support of our Referral Order panel volunteers.
This role helps us achieve our ambition of embedding Restorative Justice and hearing the voice of victims in our work with children who offend.
This unique role is part of a small specialist team whose support underpins our front-line services. The postholder will work closely with their colleagues, gaining a breadth of both strategic and operational knowledge and experience.
This role is suitable for a mixture of home and office working. The postholder is invited to work flexible hours, with some evening and weekend working, according to the needs of the business.
Salary starting £34,866 and annual progression according to performance against agreed targets.
KCC offer excellent development opportunities, and a generous annual leave offer.
We are more interested in who you are, your skills and experience, than what your qualifications.
We particularly welcome applicants who identify as being a minority, and those with lived experience of the justice system.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
