Role Responsibility

 Victim voice advert 0.5FTE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council as a Youth Justice Development Officer – Victim Voice Lead on a 0.5 FTE contract ( part time ) .

This role is an integral part of the Youth Justice Strategic Team, which is responsible for driving continuous performance improvement across the Youth Justice partnership through policy, guidance, constructive challenge, and support.

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge and experience in Restorative Justice and be able to work in partnership to ensure Strategy and policy are developed and translated in effective service delivery.  This role will lead on providing high quality support to victims of youth crime and ensuring that the voice of victims is fundamental to the intervention practitioners undertake with young people. The post holder will also share responsibility for managing a team of non-case holding staff that deliver county wide youth justice services such as reparation and  Intensive Supervision and Surveillance  (ISS).

The successful candidate will meet the requirements within the Job description and demonstrate this in both application and interview.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
