Role Responsibility

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Arboricultural Professional to play a key role within the Highways & Transportation’s Soft Landscape Team.

This role is fundamental in providing support to maintain and audit Kent’s 500,000 plus highway trees. Working with a diverse tree demographic this role will allow the post holder to influence and shape the future of the treescape within Kent through our ongoing maintenance programs and urban tree planting schemes.

The role of Tree Inspector will cover all aspects of highway related tree management, including the management of contractors in the field, specifying and monitoring works, scheduling programmed maintenance, in addition to providing excellent customer service.

You will have a strong background in arboriculture and experience of applying this in a diverse range of practical situations.

You will need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills and have a good understanding of data capture in the field.

Initial training will be provided to the successful applicant on all of our processes, in addition to the provision of ongoing training and supported CPD in tree related subjects.

This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
