Total Placement Service Placement Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Children’s Strategic Commissioning Unit within the Total Placement Service (TPS) for a Placement Officer for a permanent full-time position. The usual base location for this role is Sessions House, Maidstone, however as a result of Covid 19 all TPS staff are currently working from home. Upon appointment the you will work from home until such time the team returns to a KCC building.
TPS manages all referrals for placements for Kent’s Children in Care and is based in Maidstone. TPS is a key element of the children’s services strategy to meet the authority’s sufficiency duty and ensuring that placements for Children in Care meet their needs.
The TPS team will aim to provide a single point of referral for:
- advice on placements
- resource finding for In House & external placements
- centralised purchasing/brokerage of services
- payment and invoice management of all services purchased
The post is varied and interesting providing specialist advice/support on placements; resolving complex issues, managing liaison between key stakeholders; identifying and procuring external resources. In order to be eligible for the post you will need to possess the following skills/experience:
- Highly motivated, excellent organisational, administration and communication skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise and plan effectively
- Good negotiation skills and high level of interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Have an excellent knowledge of IT systems; Excel, Word and Outlook
- Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.
