Technical Support Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably motivated and enthusiastic individual to play a key role within the Highways Operational Team. As a support officer you will provide the necessary administrative support to the Highway Managers and their teams across Kent in the delivery of all aspects of highway related work. This includes liaising and working closely with other KCC Highway teams, administrative tasks including raising the collation of Joint Transportation Board papers, assisting with the organisation and facilitating Parish Seminars, ordering and distributing PPE to all Operational teams and other administrative duties, including minute taking and ensuring good financial records are maintained.  The successful candidate will be key in delivering an exceptional customer service through the provision of high-quality communication skills. 


This is a full time role based at Swanley Depot, Kent with hybrid working arrangements in place.  However, you will be required to assist and support the team of TSOs across the county and may be required to travel to other offices/depots. 


The right candidate will have a passion to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.  You will be a proven team player with the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of highway teams and have good computer literacy skills.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
