Technical Advice & Training Development Consultant
Role Responsibility
Further to the expansion of our Pensions Administration Section within Kent County Council’s finance division, we are delighted to announce a vacancy for the post KR10 Technical Advice & Training Development Consultant. The role is full-time, permanent, advertised for 37 hours a week, with applications from part-time applicants considered too. The primary location for this role is Maidstone, Kent, whereby the successful candidate will undertake both working at home and in the office. Applications from both internal and external applicants are welcomed.
The post holder will be expected to provide expert advice and information to members of the Pension Section and to scheme members. The pensions advice provided by the post holder will relate to all technical issues, legislative change, and statutory changes, with regard to the various pension schemes administered by Kent County Council. Furthermore, the post holder will supervise our pension training officers, to manage the learning and professional development of the section’s workforce.
This specialist role requires experience of interpreting complicated pension legislation in both oral and written medias. Furthermore, knowledge of Pensions administration software system Altair (or similar) and knowledge of the Local Government and Police Pension Schemes is required. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
