Are you ready to take the lead in a pivotal role that drives excellence, ensures compliance, and shapes the future of one of the UK’s largest local government pension funds? We’re excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join Kent Pension Fund as our new Technical and Compliance Lead Manager.

Location: Maidstone, Kent (Hybrid working – a blend of home and office based on business needs)

Hours: Full-time (37 hours/week) – Part-time applicants (minimum 30 hours/week) are also warmly welcomed

Closing Date: 30th June 2025

Interviews: Held via MS Teams in July 2025 (including a presentation – details provided in advance)

Why This Role?

As a key member of our Pensions and Treasury Service, you’ll be one of three Lead Managers reporting directly to the Pensions Administration Manager. Your mission? To lead our Pensions Technical and Training Team, ensuring we stay ahead of regulatory changes and technical developments that impact the Kent Pension Fund.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Acting as the technical expert and main point of contact for policy, legislation, and regulatory matters.
  • Providing expert advice to key stakeholders, including the Pension Board and Pension Fund Committee.
  • Driving compliance by challenging, monitoring, and refining processes and practices.
  • Representing the Fund at a strategic level, ensuring we remain a leader in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) space.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re an experienced, solution-focused team leader with:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
  • A strong background in pensions administration and compliance.
  • The confidence to represent the Fund on technical and legislative matters.
  • A passion for developing people and processes to deliver outstanding service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
