Team Manager

Role Responsibility

As a Team Manager in the North Kent Children in Care Service, you will play a key role within the management team, providing a high standard of social work to our children, young people, and their families.  

You need to be able to evidence extensive knowledge of child protection, legal processes, including Public Law Outline and pre-proceedings.  The team looks after a number of Unaccompanied Asylum-seeking Young People.  You will be required to provide a high-quality level of supervision, evidencing management oversight for the children open to your team, be competent in quality assuring the written and verbal work of your team.  You will be responsible for chairing a variety of multi-agency meetings to contribute towards key decision-making for children and young people in need of Local Authority service and protection.

You need to be able to evidence good leadership skills and have a proven track record for delivering good outcomes for children and young people.  In addition to your practice, you will need to bring creativity and positivity to maintain a good team atmosphere and morale. as well as lead, manage and motivate others to embed a positive performance culture. Above all, you’ll be focused on helping children and families to change their lives for the better.  

You will be required to understand and help lead the delivery on the Change for Kent programme in the North Kent Children in Care area, working closely with other parts of the organisation to deliver and shape Integrated Children’s Services.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
