Team Manager - Autism Team

Role Responsibility

Kent County Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager who can put the needs of Autistic Adults at the centre of everything we do.

The Team manager plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of the Local Authorities statutory duties. You will monitor and maintain team performance, processes and practice standards ensuring person-centred, strengths and rights-based approaches are utilised as standard. You will manage resources appropriately and effectively and develop and sustain relationships with partners to support a seamless pathway across adult social care. You will address challenges and barriers to the pathway with a range of stakeholders.

It is key we keep people safe driven by Making Safeguarding Personal alongside the intention that each person we support has choice and control in how their Care Act needs are responded to.

Meeting needs within partnership arrangements is central to success and this role will see you leading and directing the delivery of integrated health and social care across the team, taking opportunities to streamline processes and support the team through a period of change. 

A professional qualification in Social Work will be necessary, and you will be registered with your professional body. You will also have an extensive knowledge of all relevant legislation and be expect to adhere to county procedures, with the ability to inspire and deliver excellent work from your team.

The post will be based from Kroner House in Ashford but with a flexible approach which allows for working from home or other Kent County Council offices.

You will be a registered Social Worker and will need to demonstrate at interview that you are competent to work at the advanced level of the Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. Registered Nurses and Occupational Therapists already working in Adult Social Care and Health with KCC are also welcomed to apply for these posts and must also be able to demonstrate they are working at an Advanced Level.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
