Teaching Assistant-Skills for Life Courses

Role Responsibility

We are looking for motivated, dedicated and caring candidates for Teaching Assistant positions to support groups and individual learners who are engaging in online and face-to-face Skills for Life courses (ESOL, Functional Skills Maths and English, Everyday Maths and English or IT).

The roles are based in Margate Adult Education CT9 1PF and Maidstone Adult Education ME16 8AE.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

The right candidate will need a flexible approach and a commitment to professional development. You will assist tutors with pre-course planning and administrative tasks needed to smoothly deliver programmes of learning.

You will actively promote students' wellbeing and support learners who may have learning difficulties or physical disabilities. You will have or will be working towards a genetic Learner Support Qualification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
