Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

If you would like to be part of a team delivering continuous improvement and transformation to front line services, then this could be the position for you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Public Protection’s Business Development Team. The role focuses on our use of technology and the data we manage; developing new ideas and solutions whilst also supporting existing business applications for a diverse group of high in-demand and well-respected services. These services consist of: Trading Standards, Coroners, Intelligence, Kent Scientific Services and Community Safety.

Your work will be varied as the team frequently develops new initiatives/services prior to release and delivery by other Public Protection teams.

You will need to apply your proven experience to project manage upgrades and developments to Public Protection applications, systems and work processes using recognised change/project management methodology. This includes facilitating the requirements gathering, procurement and commissioning processes.

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and facilitate greater use of our Microsoft 365 applications using the Microsoft Power Platform to provide data analysis and visualisation capability across our services.

With proven experience managing and motivating people, you will be comfortable working closely with users and managers; leading system user-groups and training, troubleshooting problems and ensuring solutions are implemented.

This full-time role is offered as flexible/hybrid working with a mix of working from the office and from home. The office base will be at Invicta House, Maidstone. The post holder will be expected to travel to our Service offices across Kent on a regular basis.

As an employee of Kent County Council, we offer benefits that include: flexible working, 28 days annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to a range of local and national discounts and cashback through our Kent Rewards website.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
