Strategic Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Manager

An exciting opportunity has opened to recruit a Full Time Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Manager to join the Directorate’s wider leadership team.

We are seeking an exceptional individual who has the energy, ideas, and ambition to make a sustained difference to the people of Kent; people who share our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing for Kent residents.

The role of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for shaping and leading a strategic framework for policy, service development, strategic safeguarding, and quality assurance, providing expertise and advice to elected members, senior managers across the Directorate and the wider organisation. Responsible for ensuring effective quality assurance mechanisms and systems are in place in order to achieve excellence and demonstrate a positive impact on outcomes for vulnerable adults.

Provide strategic leadership and management to the Policy & Practice, and Strategic Safeguarding Teams, directing the team across Adult Social Care to promote understanding and commitment to practice and quality assurance, in order to achieve the delivery of effective, person-centred, and legally compliant services. Make a broad and sustained contribution to the achievement of the authority’s and units aims and objectives.

You will have experience of managing operational teams to deliver effective and efficient services within local government or the Health and Social Care sector. You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the legal framework and legislation of a Local Authority. You will ensure the effective use of data and quality measures for robust performance management and improve quality of practice through listening to the voice of the people we support. Your ability to motivate and influence a range of stakeholders and manage partnerships within a multi-agency environment will be key to delivering sustainable services.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
