Social Prescribing Support Officer
Role Responsibility
We are looking for a motivated individual to provide high quality technical and administrative support for a new Social Prescribing service. The service is aimed at people age 65+ who live independently in their own homes, helping them to become more resilient through being better connected with activities, events and issues in their local community.
You will work closely with the Social Prescribing Development Officer (SPDO) and eight Community Connectors, supporting four pilot areas of Kent (parts of Folkestone, Maidstone, Ramsgate and Sheerness) on case administration and gathering information required by our funders. As a point of contact for the service, you will also speak to service users and respond to enquiries from external organisations. You will also support mini projects.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are key, along with the ability to handle telephone conversations with empathy, care and compassion. A good understanding of data protection is essential as you will work with personal and sensitive information.
The successful candidate will need to display strong IT skills and the ability to learn and master new IT systems and processes. Exceptional confidence in using Microsoft Office suite/Office 365 is required.
Initially, you will be working from home due to COVID-19 restrictions using the IT equipment provided. When it is safe to do so, you will be joining the team in Maidstone and may be required to travel across the county at different times to attend meetings and assist the SPDO.
Some duties will require interactions with adults identified as vulnerable. KCC is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of these individuals.
