Shift Leader
Role Responsibility
Sunrise Children’s Centre provides overnight short breaks for children and young people with disabilities from the age of 5 to 18 years old.
We have a 30 hour per week Shift Leader post available. You will work on a 4 week rolling rota shift pattern, which includes two weekends per month and sleep-in duties.
We are looking for individuals who can be flexible in their approach, are able to work collaboratively and share our commitment to improving outcomes for children. You will be required to lead shifts and work as a member of a team providing a nurturing and safe environment which promotes the emotional and physical well-being of the children and young people accessing overnight residential short breaks.
The job requires the ability to co-ordinate shift plans, ensure accurate record keeping (quality assurance), liaise with other professionals, care planning, and provide supervision and support to staff while monitoring standards of care. You will need to hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this. You will need to have experience of working with young people in a residential setting. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection and be able to take personal and professional responsibility for your actions and performance. In return, you will be provided with a rolling program of specialist training and be offered regular supervision to enable you to confidently progress in your career.
Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with care’ assessment process.
