Senior Transport and Development Planner - Maidstone

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen in the Kent Transport and Development team as a Senior Transport and Development Planner for Maidstone.  Maidstone is the County Town of Kent and has good rail and road connections. The Borough has an extensive rural hinterland including the North Downs with many heritage assets such as Leeds Castle. You will help facilitate and support joint working between Maidstone Borough Council and the County Council, helping to deliver our shared ambition for the county town of Kent.  Including improving our transport systems to tackle congestion and facilitating sustainable economic growth.

This is a permanent position at grade KR10 (£34,351 to £40,405). You will be supported to work flexibly from home and your primary base at the Maidstone Borough Council offices. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with the review of the Local Plan, supporting the delivery of the Integrated Transport Package, assisting with the promotion and delivery of cycling measures and active travel infrastructure as well as assessing and advising on the transport aspects of planning applications and securing funding and coordinating the delivery of development related highway schemes. 

This is an exciting role for a motivated transport and development planner looking to broaden your experience working on delivering transport initiatives as part of a supportive team.
