Senior Streetworks Co-ordinator

Role Responsibility

KCC Highways is looking for a Senior Street Works Coordinator to support the delivery of their objectives through proactive coordination of road works and activities on Kent’s roads.

You will be responsible for providing senior professional co-ordination advice and to make complex decisions in the management of roadworks on Kent’s Highway network and assist the Streetworks Manager to ensure the continued successful operation of the Kent Lane Rental Scheme and Kent Permit Scheme

The successful candidate will be looking after the 6 or 7 area coordinators providing cover when needed and acting as the first escalation point for any issues. Building up good working relationships both within KCC Highway Operations and with the broad Statutory Undertaker community operating on the Kent Network. You will need to be confident in dealing with internal and external stakeholders. These will include the Public, Parish and District Councils, Local and County Councillors as well as works promoters and contractors.

You should have a sound knowledge of all Microsoft office applications and have a high level of computer literacy. Knowledge of Street Manager and EToN software packages such as Mayrise is essential.

It is essential that as the team operates in a highly reactive work environment and that you are able to prioritise your own workload, work to tight deadlines, be methodical in your approach, use initiative and operate with minimum supervision.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the Streetworks industry and of staff supervision.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
