Senior Pension Fund Finance Officer (Governance)

Role Responsibility

Kent County Council (KCC) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pension Fund Finance Officer (Governance), within the Pensions & Treasury Service, Finance Division. Please note that the the primary location of the role is Sessions House, Maidstone, with the possibility of office and home working. The vacancy is offered as a 9-month Secondment opportunity to existing KCC staff, and as a 9-month Fixed Term Contract to external applicants.  The position is for 22.2 hours a week, although this would be adjusted, should an existing full-time staff member wish to pursue as a Secondment.

This pivotal role involves working closely with the Senior Accountant – Employer Governance, Compliance and Funding. The postholder will have responsibility for providing administrative support to the Fund. Furthermore, they will be required to give effective oversight of participating employer membership arrangements. Please see attached job description for full details.

The role will involve some team working, and preparing information that is timely and accurate to meet fixed, non-negotiable deadlines.  As such, the post holder will require excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office (Excel) and have experience of working in a finance environment.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
