Pensions Team Manager

Role Responsibility

We are pleased to advertise a vacancy for the post of Pensions Team Manager to work for the Kent Pension Fund at Kent County Council. This vacancy is advertised full-time (37 hours a week, Monday-Friday), permanent. We also welcome applications from part-time applicants, willing to work a minimum of 30 hrs a week (to be discussed at interview). 

This vacancy has arisen due to the internal promotion of the previous post holder. For internal applicants, we are offering the opportunity to undertake this Pensions Team Manager role as an initial 3-month secondment. Applications from both internal and external candidates are welcomed. For external applicants, we are advertising this vacancy as a permanent opportunity to join our team.

As a Pensions Team Manager, your main responsibilities will include line managing a team of colleagues and co-ordinating the workload of colleagues to complete tasks. You will have specialist, in depth knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and its regulatory framework, or specialist knowledge of other public sector pension schemes with a willingness to learn about the LGPS. Using our systems platform Altair, you will be expected to deliver a high-quality customer care service to support the many employers and scheme members of Kent Pension Fund. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
