Senior Business Support Lead

Role Responsibility

An exciting management opportunity has arisen in the Business Support Service for Kent County Council’s Integrated Children’s Services; we have vacancies for 2 Senior Business Support Leads. You will be part of a management team committed to providing a high-quality Business Support Service and supporting front-line practitioners to deliver an outstanding service to Kent's children, young people and their families.

As a Senior Business Support Lead you will drive innovation, flexibility and solution-focussed approaches across all aspects of work, embracing new technologies and new ways of working.  You will provide aspiration and high-quality supervision and leadership to a large and diverse team of Business Support staff across a range of services.

You will engage with front-line services to improve communication and understanding of business support needs.  You will be able to collate and analyse data using a range of tools, producing reports and recommendations to inform performance and practice. You will be able to evidence good leadership skills and motivate teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and flexibility.

Two posts are available:

  • North Kent - covering Children’s Social Work, Early Help & Preventative Services and Open Access
  • Countywide Services - covering Attendance & Inclusion, Youth Justice, Adolescent Services and the Central Monitoring & Compliance Team

The office base for both posts will be agreed with the applicant dependent upon their location, with some home working.

The Offer:

  • A starting salary of £30,485 with performance related pay increases

The posts are subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The posts are considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will be held the week commencing 26 April 2022 where there will be a panel and requirement for a short presentation.
