Senior Administration Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Administration Officer in our East Kent Disabled Young People’s Service for one year.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting and supervising Administration Officers in our East Kent Disabled Young People’s Teams and assisting with finance work.

Our Disabled Young People’s Teams work with young people aged 16 – 25 and therefore use various in-house systems.

The post holder can be based at any of our East Kent offices (Brook House, Whitstable, Rainbow Centre, Ashford, Green Banks, Margate or Thistley Hill, Dover).  We are currently operating a hybrid working arrangement so there will be the opportunity for a mix of office and home working.  There will be an expectation to travel between offices when required.

The successful candidate will need to be highly organised and able to manage competing claims on their time.  Good office skills, a good knowledge of computer systems and the ability to take high quality minutes during meetings are essential.  A key part of the role will be using in-house finance systems so confidence and experience with finance work and databases are required.  The postholder will also be responsible for supervising Administration Officers.

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Secondment opportunities for internal applicants would be considered.
