Senior Administration Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a full time motivated and committed Senior Administration Officer to support the East Kent Disabled Children’s Teams within the Strengthening Independence Service.

The contractual bases for this post are in Ashford, Dover, Whitstable or Margate, however, Kent County Council currently offers a hybrid working model with a combination of home and office working. The service covers a large geographical area and you will need to be able to travel across the whole area covered by the service.

You will be providing administrative support to three Social Work Teams and their Team Managers and you will be responsible for supervising the Administration Officers within these Teams.  The successful candidate will have experience of supervising staff.

You will need to be highly organised and be able to prioritise your work, together with a willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and the confidence to deal with competing demands. Good administrative skills, diary management, a good knowledge of computer systems, finance skills and the ability to take high quality minutes are essential. Training and formal supervision will be provided.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
