Senior Accountant

Role Responsibility

We have an opportunity for a KR11 Senior Accountant in Finance, within the 0-25 Revenue Team, Kent County Council (KCC). This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, starting Summer 2021. Both internal and external applicants are welcome. Please see attached job description for full details.

 The Role

The successful applicant will be a Qualified Accountant and/or with proven ability to do the job, with technical knowledge of Revenue budget monitoring and accounting.  The role is responsible for providing finance and budget control advice, robust challenge and direction to service leads for several services.

You will have excellent spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel) and be a competent user of other Microsoft office software e.g. Word and Outlook. You will have a wide knowledge of the Authority’s accounting system, Oracle CP, BI and iProc.  You will have extensive knowledge of budget setting, monitoring, and closure of accounts, and other Revenue finance processes.  You will have good communication skills and wide experience of working with senior officers, Heads of service, and budget managers.  While being able to work in a self-directed and well organised way, you will be part of a team and will be expected to work alongside other accountants to achieve shared objectives.
