Kent County Council self-employed practical on-road trainer opportunities
Are you an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and looking for a new opportunity as a self-employed NDORS Licenced Trainer?
The Kent Driver Education Team are part of the Road Safety and Active Travel Team and are responsible for delivering the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme on behalf of Kent Police.
Do you want to be part of an effective team helping Kent County Council (KCC) meet its strategic target of Vision Zero by helping to make our roads safer?
Are you passionate about behavioural change courses, if so KCC are looking to recruit On-Road Coaches for our practical courses to join our team in Kent.
At KCC we are always looking for suitable self-employed Trainers who are prepared to perform and achieve excellent standards to ensure our clients receive the best possible experience through a professional delivery.
You will receive full training and will be entitled to claim a fixed fee (currently £40 per hour).
Depending upon your availability and client demand a variable number of hours (typically two or three afternoons per month) which will be offered on a month-by-month basis.

Role description
This role contributes to our broader aims for encouraging responsible Driver/rider behaviour as a mechanism to reduce road crash casualties.
- You will be required to deliver nationally accredited (practical on-road) coaching to clients across Kent.
- You will be required to provide your own vehicle with dual controls.
- If you are looking to provide practical training for KCC, there are additional qualifications and requirements including proof of your ADI, MOT, and car Insurance.
- The successful applicants must have: Professional Indemnity and liability insurance (DIA or MSA membership) or equivalent; internet, email access and a printer.
