SEND Clerical Officer

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed Clerical Officer to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service.

This role is predominantly based at home but with some degree of flexibility required to work at a local office, as and when required.  

You will provide administrative support to the area wide teams in the Business Support Service for SEND. 

The team supports Special Educational Needs and Disabled Children aged from 0 to 25 years of age.  

You will need to be highly organised, be able to prioritise their work and be flexible to meet the needs of the team. Good administrative skills, a good knowledge of computer systems including databases, and the ability to take high quality minutes during meetings are essential. The role requires good teamwork as well as the ability to work independently to meet the needs of the service. Training and formal supervision will be provided. 

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
