SEN Clerical Officer

Role Responsibility

The Special Educational Needs Department are seeking to appoint a SEN Clerical Assistant based in the central management team.

The department is an exciting and busy environment with multiple priorities where work needs to be carried out efficiently and at a fast pace. It is therefore essential that you thrive in a highly pressured, demanding environment and have a high level of resilience.

You will be required to support the central management team in it’s statutory duty. You will be the first point of contact for parents, young people, other stakeholders and/ or members of the public so excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.

The role will involve working with sensitive information pertaining to Children and Young People from the age of 0 to 25 years, therefore you will need an understanding of data protection and information governance. You will have a high level of administrative skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
