Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer
Role Responsibility
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer to work within the Road Safety & Active Travel Group (RSATG).
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has the knowledge, understanding and passion to work on key datasets and make analysis and data available and accessible for the wider team to assist in the County’s Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy.
The role will report to the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team leader, but duties will be split between the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team and the Casualty Data Team. You will work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders within the road safety arena with particular focus working in support of the Safer Road Partnership of Kent & Medway.
You will spend a proportion of your time validating personal injury collision data, a key dataset which forms the basis of all road safety efforts in the county. In addition, you will be supporting the team cleansing, distributing and in some instances analysing other traffic and risk data. You will also process ad-hoc requests for information within this field. You will work with colleagues in relation to Safety Performance Indicators in line with the Safe Systems Vision Zero principles and also work on our safer roads, junctions and cluster site programmes.
You must be well organised, numerate, attentive to detail and have excellent IT skills as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You may have some experience of obtaining, cleansing or analysing data.
You need to be flexible, adaptable, enjoy working in a team, be able to manage competing demands by careful prioritisation and switch between tasks. You also need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
In return we offer a competitive salary, flexible working practices, comprehensive professional learning and development and an opportunity to work in a growing sector with a team focused on delivering high-quality Road Safety Intelligence.
