Public Transport Support Officer

As a Public Transport Support Officer, you will provide general administrative support across the Public Transport Planning and Operations Team, working closely with a wide range of internal and external partners. Building positive relationships with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders will be central to your success.
This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities include:
- Stakeholder communications,
- Managing the impact of road closures
- Arranging bus stop suspensions
- Production and distribution of bus passes
- Managing team and department mailboxes
- Coordinating and providing responses to routine correspondence.
- Assisting the Mainstream Schools transport Team
To succeed in this role, you will be:
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload
- Passionate about delivering high-quality services to the people of Kent
- Interested in transport and how it supports communities
- An effective communicator, confident dealing with a variety of stakeholders
- Experienced in customer service, with the ability to handle challenging situations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

You will work a 37-hour week, typically between 08:00 and 17:00. The role has flexible working arrangements, including a mix of home and office-based work.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
