Public Health Specialist

Role Responsibility

We are looking to appoint a Public Health Specialist to join our thriving public health team.

You will need to be an experienced and skilled public health professional with a strong public health knowledge base.

As the Public Health Specialist, you will be supporting part of the maternity, children and young people portfolio of work. You will have a keen interest and enthusiasm for improving the health of the population, a proven track record in delivering public health projects and programmes, demonstrable partnership working, and the ability to embed strategy, policy and guidance to a high standard.   You will be skilled in the use and analysis of data to inform policy and programmes.

The role will be to develop, support, monitor, and review public health programmes; identify, and assess need.

Kent is a large county with lots of complex public health issues. You will have the ability to prioritise competing demands and objectives, coupled with diplomacy and a working knowledge of all areas of public health.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
