IPC Nurse

Role Responsibility

Kent County Council is recruiting an experienced Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Nurse to join our Public Health Team. 

You will provide expert clinical advice, drive quality improvement in infection control practice, and support outbreak prevention and management across a wide range of care and community environments—including care homes, schools, and refugee/asylum accommodation settings.

About the Role

You will:

- Support sustainable infection control networks and contribute to strategic planning for health protection.

- Provide expert IPC advice across care homes, schools and community settings.

- Deliver IPC audits, quality visits and Care Quality Commission (CQC) assurance.

- Develop IPC policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training to strengthen system-wide practice.

- Work closely with partners including UKHSA, the ICB IPC team, and care providers.


About You

You will be:

- A registered nurse or midwife with significant IPC experience.

- Skilled at partnership working, influencing and leading change.

- Confident analysing and presenting complex information.

- Able to work autonomously, travel across the county, and manage competing demands.
