Public Health Billing Officer

Role Responsibility

Public Health is looking to recruit a Public Health Billing Officer to work in their busy office.  The post holder will be required to assist the Public Health Business and Grant Manager in providing a comprehensive, co-ordinated and efficient business support service to the Public Health Team, to enabling them to carry out their responsibilities effectively complying with Kent County Council processes.

The Public Health team works to improve the wellbeing of the people of Kent, protecting the health of the Kent population and improving the quality, effectiveness and access to, health and social care services.

The main functions of the post holder will be to:

• Process, maintain and monitor financial records, including the preparation and processing of invoices for payment
• Raising purchase orders
• Raise invoices requests for external income
• Data analysis and reconciliation.
• Identify and investigate queries and anomalies relating to invoices and financial records proposing solutions on behalf of the line manager.

Key skills required include good numeracy and literacy skills, attention to detail and accuracy.

The position will be based a County Hall Sessions House.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
