We’re currently recruiting a Procurement Administrative Officer to join the People team within the Commercial and Procurement Division at Kent County Council. This is a 24-month fixed-term opportunity (with the option for the role to become permanent) to be part of a newly formed division that plays a vital role in ensuring every pound spent in Kent delivers maximum value for our residents. Secondments are also permissible subject to the substantive managers agreement which should be sought in principle prior to applying.

What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting procurement project timelines and documentation
- Coordinating team communications and meetings
- Managing shared inboxes and correspondence
- Assisting with events and stakeholder engagement
- Helping to maintain order and structure in a rapidly expanding team
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- A confident communicator and team player
- Comfortable working with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to learn
Experience in an administrative or coordination role is desirable, but we’re equally open to candidates with transferable skills and a passion for public service.
Additional Information:
- Start date: We’re looking for someone who can start within 3-4 weeks of an offer being made (subject to employment checks).
- Interview dates: Interviews are expected to take place virtually via Microsoft Teams . Shortlisted candidates will be notified the week prior.
