Job advert: Practice Development Officer Occupational Therapy (KR11) for Adult Social Care and Health: fixed term contract x 2 years with possibility of substantive post .
An exciting opportunity has become available for a registered Occupational Therapist with significant experience of working in Adult Social Care. The Position is fulltime and the work base will be negotiable subject to the expectation of attendance at team development sessions probably in Maidstone as required. The Practise Development Officer will report directly to the Principal OT and work in partnership with the OT management group (Service, Operational and Senior Practitioners) to provide dedicated time and expertise to Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assessment Officers and OT Apprentices. They will also plan and coordinate student placements, providing ongoing support to both students and educators.
The successful candidate will have excellent time management and be able to work to deadlines, have a thorough understanding of the legislation pertaining to Occupational Therapy in Adult Social Care, have experience of teaching and mentoring as well as change management, be adaptable and personable and champion a strengths based approach. They will maintain awareness of emerging research and evidence based practice to inform clinical practice.
They will lead on the planning, development and delivery of education, training and professional development for the OT teams, including maintaining a core induction programme, creating and implementing a preceptorship programme for newly qualified OT’s and returners to practice and manage the Social Care Capability Framework with individual staff.
