Permanent Relief Support Worker

Role Responsibility

Swalecliffe Community Service is an inhouse day service provision supporting people with learning and physical disabilities.

We are looking for a Permanent Relief Support Worker to join our team and assist people to meet their aspirations through a person-centred approach, focusing on the outcomes for the individual, promoting social inclusion, rights, and choices, leading to an increase in independence and fulfilled lives.

You will have a flexible approach to supporting people to access activities and participate fully in their local community. We also support Individuals with more complex support and communication needs, and you may be required to provide support with some personal care tasks including continence and nutrition.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be provided with access to a vast range of training, to support you to learn, develop and gain new skills which will support your role in our professional, creative, and motivated team.

The successful candidate would be required to evidence that they have the core values required of staff working in our services and will need to hold, or be willing to complete the Care Certificate and Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Good communication, computer and organisational skills are essential to the job role.

The role will be based primarily at the Swalecliffe hub in Whitstable, however, there will be opportunities for you to provide support at our other hubs and services across Kent if you wish to do so.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
